The Blues have come under fire for doing a pre-match huddle around the centre circle, with Gary Neville criticising its use and lack of impact. However, Carrick believes that if it helps the players, he would have no issue with his team doing the same.
"To be honest, at that stage, it's up to the players and how they want to go about it and really get involved in that part of it," he said.
"I'll say my bit in the changing room and before kick-off, but if they want to do that and they feel it helps them, then great. If they don't want to carry on and do it, then I'm fine with it at that moment. They're on the pitch, it's up to them.
"As a group, they've got to go into battle and have that feeling between them, whatever suits them."
